I am working as a marketing communications student at Bosch Australia. This internship is part of my university degree and I will return to uni to finish my last semester in February 2016. So far my experience at Bosch has been really valuable. I have learned a lot about marketing communication, other business fields and work at a large organisation. I am part of the marketing communications team and we are working on all marketing activities for the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket. I am assisting the marketing manager and the trade marketer, but also have my own projects to work on. This internship has so far helped me to understand more about marketing and become more professional. A lot of my tasks require excellent verbal and written communciation skills, as well as organisational skills as I am always working under a tight timeline. On this e-portfolio you are able to find examples of the work that I have been doing at Bosch.
I am hoping that this internship will continue to help me to gain a lot of experience and learn a lot about marketing. This is great opportunity to combine course theory with first hand practical work. It really shows how the hard work at uni can pay off.
Before starting my internship at Bosch I worked as a supervisor at Toscano’s in Kew. This has taught me a lot about team work and working in a high pressure environment. It also helped me to grow as a person due to the challenges I had to face on a daily basis. There was a lot of focus on performing under pressure whilst keeping service quality in mind.
I also did an internship at MathMarketing, a B2B marketing consultancy. I stayed there four months. I was responsible for supporting the B2B marketing wiki, creating blog entries, researching common B2B areas, and utilising Google Analytics. The internship was an invaluable experience as it gave me exposure to some great marketing minds and has been a great stepping stone to where I am now.
